About Me

Hi! I’m Michele Aaron, creator of Pursuing Wanderlust!

Welcome to my blog! If you’re reading this, you’re probably here because you want to know a little about me.

So, let’s start from the beginning…

I was born in a small town in northeast Texas and I lived there until I was 9. We moved around a bit and ended up in Little Rock, Arkansas when I was 12, where I stayed until I got married at 18 and moved to California. Fast forward to 2009 and I was recently divorced and living back in that small town in northeast Texas with my 1 year-old son.

I went back to school and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science in 2012 and an MBA in 2014. I’ve thought about getting my Ph.D, but every time I look at my student loan bills I think….hmmmm better not.

Now, I have a “big girl” job, a mortgage, 4 cats (all rescues), a husband, and a middle-schooler. Whew. Just saying all of that makes me need a glass of wine.

I’ve always loved traveling, but didn’t travel outside of the United States until 2017 when I was 31! Crazy right? I started Pursuing Wanderlust as a way to document my travels and share all the tips + tricks I’ve learned over the years. I love writing complete travel guides and quick 24 hour itineraries to various destinations.

I’m a big believer that you don’t have to be rich to travel. You just have to be smart. Aside from writing travel guides and itineraries to the destinations I visit, I also love writing posts on how to budget for a trip and how to visit a destination without spending a fortune.

Hopefully, in the time since I started by blog, I have inspired at least one person to get out there and explore the world.
