There are so many super safe destinations for female travelers. Whether you are traveling with girlfriends or traveling solo, female travelers shouldn’t be afraid to venture out on their own. While some destinations are safer than others, the world isn’t quite as scary as some people might lead you to believe. I have put together a list of five destinations that any female traveler should visit at least once.

Iceland has become one of the most popular travel destinations recently. And for good reason. The country is a female travelers dream; especially a solo female traveler. Iceland is ranked as the safest country in the world, which means you can explore the island without worry.
The Golden Circle and Ring Road make the perfect road trip itineraries, complete with fjords, puffins, geysers, and more waterfalls than you can imagine. Iceland’s capital city, Reykjavik, is known for its music scene, nightlife, and world-class restaurants. As a solo traveler, it’s definitely worth spending a night or two there.
After you’ve explored Iceland until your heart is content, end your trip at the Blue Lagoon! Although touristy, it’s a great way to relax and reflect on the amazing time you had in Iceland.
Canada is full of vibrant cities, lush landscapes, and lots of national parks. Whether visiting in the summer or winter, there is a plethora of activities to do for any solo female traveler.
The Vancouver area is really beautiful and is the perfect mix of city and nature. It’s also a short drive to Whistler, which is known for it’s winter sports scene. Driving is Canada is safe and easy; the roads are in good condition and are easy to navigate.
St. John, USVI
Beautiful beaches, amazing food, and friendly people. It’s no wonder St. John is one of the best Caribbean islands. I have been several times and would recommend this destination to anyone, especially female travelers.
Staying in Cruz Bay is probably best as it offers easy access to restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, and taxi services – usually all within walking distance from one another.
While Japan is the only destinations I have never personally visited, it’s always ranked as one of the safest countries in the world; therefore, I am confident in recommending it to my fellow female travelers. The country is well known for priding itself on safety.
Public transportation is very efficient and accessible, which makes traveling around Japan easy. Dining is also great for solo female travelers because it’s very common for local Japanese women to dine by themselves; so it’s not out of the norm. If you’re interested in meeting other female travelers while in Japan, plenty of larger cities offer bicycle and group tours.
Switzerland is one of the most picturesque countries in the world. From the Swiss Alps to the shores of Lake Brienz and Lake Geneva, there is something for every type of traveler, no matter the time of year.
Navigating is made easy thanks to intricate and efficient public transportation. From trains to local buses, you can get from one end of Switzerland to the other will relative ease. While beautiful, Switzerland is one of the most expensive countries in Europe, so if you are traveling on a budget, definitely keep that mind.
